Ron Bailey Named General Manager of Norfolk Casino

NORFOLK– Boyd Gaming and the Pamunkey Indian Tribe today announced that Ronald “Ron” Bailey, a 25-year veteran of the casino gaming industry, has been named Vice President and General Manager of Norfolk Casino, pending regulatory approval.

In his new role, Bailey will oversee the development of Norfolk Casino, as well as the property’s hiring, vendor engagement and community affairs initiatives.

Bailey most recently served as Vice President and General Manager of Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, one of Boyd Gaming’s premier properties. Prior to joining Valley Forge in 2021, Bailey held senior leadership positions at several other Boyd properties, including General Manager of Sam’s Town Hotel & Casino in Shreveport, Louisiana; Assistant General Manager of The Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada; and Director of Operations at Sam’s Town Shreveport.

Before joining Boyd Gaming in 2012, Bailey held senior operations positions at other prominent gaming resorts in Las Vegas and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

“As one of Boyd’s most experienced property leaders, Ron is the ideal candidate to lead the Norfolk Casino team,” said Keith Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer of Boyd Gaming. “Throughout his career with Boyd, Ron has demonstrated a consistent ability to deliver memorable entertainment experiences for our guests. He has also consistently shown his commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for his team members, and to positively impacting our communities.”

Boyd anticipates opening a transitional gaming facility late this year, followed by the permanent casino resort in late 2027. The permanent resort will feature a casino with 1,500 slot machines and 50 table games, a 200-room hotel, eight food and beverage outlets, live entertainment, and a 45,000-square-foot outdoor amenity deck.
