The new Treasure Chest Casino welcomed loyal guests and first-time visitors with big celebrations
throughout the week.
KENNER– Boyd Gaming Corporation and Treasure Chest Casino are thrilled to announce that Treasure Chest’s new land-based casino has officially opened in Kenner’s Laketown area.
The beautiful, long-anticipated property sits just over the levee from the original Treasure Chest Casino riverboat. The new land-based entertainment destination now offers a spacious single-level casino floor, greatly expanded dining options, all-new event space and an expansive parking lot just outside the casino’s front entrance.
“The all-new Treasure Chest is a fantastic new addition to the Kenner community,” said Kim Etland, Vice President and General Manager of Treasure Chest. “We listened to our loyal customers and the community in designing and developing this property with a spacious, comfortable and modern gaming floor, as well as expanded food offerings, space for meetings and convenient parking options. This is truly an all-new entertainment experience, and we are excited for everyone to experience what the new Treasure Chest has to offer.”
The new casino floor now showcases 48,000-square-feet of gaming space with more than 900 slot machines and a fresh mix of 32 table games.
Going beyond the gaming experience, Treasure Chest also features four new restaurants – Alder & Birch Steakhouse, Lakeside Café, Infusion and The Game, which sits adjacent to the new FanDuel Sportsbook.
Offering the Kenner community an entirely new meeting option, the property also features 8,000 square feet of meeting space within the Magnolia Rooms, available for everything from business meetings to personal events.
Designed with a more modern aesthetic than the riverboat it replaced, Treasure Chest seamlessly blends modern freshness with nods to classic French architecture and décor. The wallpaper throughout the property features an intricate wrought iron-inspired pattern, developed in tribute to the wrought-iron balconies of New Orleans. The artwork behind the Boyd Rewards desk draws inspiration from the vibrant spirit of Mardi Gras, which from a distance creates the illusion of looking down from a beloved French Quarter balcony. Musical imagery from New Orleans can also be found throughout Infusion, while Alder & Birch has a modern Southern feel, enhanced by floral elements. The carpet has designs inspired by fish scales and Bourbon Street’s wrought iron patterns while Louisiana’s state flower, the Magnolia, can be seen on the carpets and wallpaper adorning the beautifully crafted event space.
Celebrations for the grand opening began this past Saturday, June 1, when the Treasure Chest riverboat ceased operations with a second line and banner drop for those aboard. Longtime Treasure Chest guest, Pam Bordelon was honored with the last slot pull on her favorite machine, Dragon Link.
On June 5, a VIP Pre-Opening Celebration was held inside the new location with honored guests, loyal customers and local councilmembers and dignitaries. Kenner Mayor Michael Glaser placed the first table bet on a blackjack game while longtime Treasure Chest customer Jason Selzer made the first slot wager on Bao Zhu Zhao Fu. VIP guests were also treated to cocktails and small bites from Treasure Chest’s new restaurants prepared by Executive Chef Eddie Garcia and his team.
“It was an opening to remember for Treasure Chest Casino and we know our guests will absolutely love everything new in store for them,” Etland said. “We’re looking forward to many more celebrations with our community for the years to come, and are proud to have created a premier entertainment destination in Kenner that this entire community can take pride in.”
The new land-based Treasure Chest Casino is now located at 4540 Williams Blvd. and will be open seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. on Sunday through Thursday and open 24 hours on Friday and Saturday. Reservations are not needed for the four restaurants but are highly encouraged for Alder & Birch Steakhouse through Open Table. All guests of the casino, restaurants and event spaces must be 21 or older. Be sure to follow Treasure Chest Casino on Facebook, Instagram and X for the latest updates.
