ST. CHARLES – To close out the holiday season, Ameristar Casino Resort Spa St. Charles gave back in a major way by supporting two non-profit organizations in Missouri. In total, the casino-resort gave $40,000 to the Disabled Athlete Sports Association (DASA) and Youth in Need.
In November, Ameristar St. Charles donated $20,000 to DASA, an organization whose mission is to give those living with physical disabilities the opportunity to participate in adaptive sports, recreational programs, and fitness activities.
“DASA is thrilled and incredibly grateful for Ameristar St. Charles’ unexpected generosity. Their team's belief in our mission means the world to us,” shared Founder and Executive Director, Kelly Behlmann. “The funds received will go towards getting much-needed adaptive equipment, helping our athletes with physical disabilities thrive in their chosen sports.”
A month later, Ameristar St. Charles surprised Youth in Need with a check presentation to present another $20,000 donation. Since 1974, the family services agency has served the greater St. Louis area. Their staff is dedicated to building positive futures for the community’s most vulnerable children, teens, and families. In addition to offering an emergency shelter, Youth in Need also provides early learning services, counseling and youth programs.
