VINTON— In anticipation of racing season, Delta Downs Racetrack Casino Hotel today announced a family-friendly event, “PAW-fect” for all Corgi lovers. Delta Has Gone to The Dogs Corgi Races will take place on Saturday, April 29 at Delta Downs Racetrack and features a unique afternoon of competition for animal athletes.
The race card will kick off at 3 p.m., with check-in to begin at 1 p.m. The races are free to attend, and contestants will compete in three qualifying races for a chance to be entered in the Delta Downs FUR-by championship race.
Delta Downs will offer a $6,000 prize pool to three charity partners, with a first-place donation of $3,000. First through third place winners will choose from Hopeful Paws Dog Rescue, Beaumont Pets Alive or Do Good Dog Rescue to each receive a minimum donation of $1,000.
Stick around after the event for the thrill and excitement of live American Quarter Horse racing as opening weekend of the 2023 season wraps up with trials for this year’s $50,000-added Old South Futurity. First post time is set for 6:15 p.m. The new season runs through July 15 with programs scheduled each Wednesday through Saturday night.
