NORTHWOOD, IOWA—Friday the 13th turned out to be a lucky day for a guest at Diamond Jo Casino who hit a more than $62,000 progressive jackpot playing Galaxy Gaming’s 21+3™ table game.
The Owatonna, Minnesota resident was playing 21+3, a table game that merges three-card poker and blackjack, on Friday, May 13 at approximately 10:30 p.m. In this game, the player wins their 21+3 wager if their two cards, plus the dealer's up-card, form a three-card poker hand of a straight or better. The guest enhanced his chances of winning big when he added a progressive side bet of $5 at the beginning of the game.
After the player was dealt two king of diamonds and the dealer revealed their up-card of a king of diamonds, he won the progressive jackpot bonus totaling $62,420. The fortunate guest plans to use his winnings to pay for a summer vacation.
The win follows another big jackpot that hit at the property earlier this month. On May 3, Shane from Osage, Iowa scored a more than $53,000 jackpot that he plans to use on buying a new car.
