LAS VEGAS—The Family Stone, the only band officially authorized by the legendary Sly Stone to carry on the legacy of his iconic music, will launch its “Everyday People Tour” honoring Sly at the Cannery Casino & Hotel on Saturday, October 25.
The Family Stone’s international tour marks 25 years of honoring the revolutionary sound and spirit of Sly and the Family Stone. Led by founding member and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Jerry Martini, the band has brought its genre-defying blend of funk, soul, R&B, rock and psychedelia to audiences worldwide. Originally formed in San Francisco, Sly and the Family Stone made history as America’s first major multi-racial, multi-gender touring band—a legacy Martini continues to champion.
Carrying the torch forward is powerhouse vocalist Phunne Stone, the daughter of original members Cynthia Robinson and Sly Stone. Her electrifying performances honor her parents’ legacies while forging a bold path of her own.
Showtime is 8 p.m. Tickets are on-sale now and start at $29.95 plus taxes and fees. Tickets can be purchased online at cannery.boydgaming.com.
